Chitwan National Park and Pokhara
Nepal’s first national park is located near its southern border with India. These former royal hunting grounds are now crucial habitat for many species of animals, as well as a large draw for nature lovers. A highlight is searching for wild rhinos from atop an elephant. Spend time exploring the jungle of Chitwan, viewing wildlife, and listening to the birds.
You will then make your way to the Himalayan town of Pokhara on the banks of Lake Phewa Tal, with a stunning backdrop of the snow-peaked Annapurna Range, including 3 out of 10 of the world’s highest mountains situated within 30 linear miles. Pokhara has paragliding, hiking, canoeing, shopping and a Tibetan Village. It's also just an amazing place to relax, reflect and soak in the amazing surroundings. This short trip is a great extension to your trek or homestay.
